Absurd, funny and satirical, this show makes for an entertaining experience, if nothing else.
This is probably as good it gets when it comes to harem shows.
Some shows go too far, with a harem of girls who (for some inexplicable reason) obsessively throw themselves at the main character from day 1. That's usually no fun because there's never any character development, just some quickly-resolved melodrama and then an open-ended conclusion. There's only been three girls introduced - Myuseru, the timid, half-elf maid, Koganuma, the meganekko bodyguard, and Petrarca, the loli empress. And none of the three are throwing themselves at the main character.
On the flip side, some shows pick the lamest of main characters whose only purpose is to bump into a random girl and have an accidental grope, then get slapped/hit/abused for some cheap slapstick laughs. So far this show's got a fairly reasonable balance. Kanou is open and unrestrained when it comes to expressing his feelings, be it his preference for maids or his opinion on lolis. And he doesn't run around accidentally groping anyone. Hopefully he'll turn out as a fine harem lead.
